HopMUNC III Secretariat

Aaradhya Diwan

Aaradhya Diwan is a senior at Johns Hopkins, double majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and International Studies, and is interested in human genomics policy and gene editing. He originates from the same city as the waffle cone, Listerine™, and the Gateway Arch – Saint Louis, Missouri. Before joining the Hopkins Model UN Team, he dabbled in Congressional and Public Forum Debate in the National Speech and Debate Association. Outside of MUN, you might find him boiling worms in the lab (for research purposes, of course), mindlessly scrolling Wikipedia for a random country’s politics to binge on, or speed running chess games. He is thrilled to serve you as the Secretary-General, solve any problems or inconveniences you may have, and answer all of your questions. You can contact him at adiwan3@jh.edu.

Secretary-General

Jeffrey Wang

Jeffrey Wang is a senior at Johns Hopkins University double majoring in International Studies and Economics. He was originally from Boston, but moved to South Florida, where he calls home for the past 10 years. Prior to serving as Director-General for HopMUNC III, Jeffrey was the Director of Logistics for HopMUNC II in his junior year and the Director of Fundraising for HopMUNC I in his sophomore year. Outside of MUN, Jeffrey enjoys playing tennis and volleyball, scrolling through Amazon for deals, and watching sports with friends. He looks forward to serving as your Director-General and cannot wait to meet all the delegates next spring!

Director-General

Ziyan Liu is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, double majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology as a premed. Since accidentally stumbling upon a Model UN Club Meeting in 7th grade, she has been heavily involved with Model UN, both as a delegate on the circuit and as an organizer for conferences. Ziyan is also heavily engrossed in stem cell research and spends much of her free time in the lab taking care of her IPS cells (her babies, as she calls them). When not being a nerd, she enjoys reading, writing, scrolling through TikTok, or getting food with her friends. Ziyan is extremely excited to serve as the Director of Marketing and Communications of HopMUNC III, and looks forward to capturing beautiful flicks of everybody both before, during, and after the conference. Reach out with questions or funny Reels ideas at zliu244@jh.edu!

Yvette Shu

Chief of Staff

Yvette is a junior majoring in Political Science and International Studies on the pre-med track (“cuz why not?“). Hailing from the quiet suburbs of Los Angeles, her only high school exposure to MUN was through warnings from traumatized debate kids. She has previously served as the USG of Crisis at HOPMUNC II and has spun around the circuit with Hopkins’ travel team. Outside of MUN, Yvette likes to dig into her interdisciplinary (read: indecisive) nature, conducting archival sociology research and volunteering at the Hopkins hospital. She also likes getting into verbal debates on topics she knows absolutely nothing about, going on trips (read: skipping class) with her friends, and squealing over the very pretty portraits she takes of her friends. If you ever need a few headshots, want to get kicked out of the library quiet room, or feel the urge to be slowly radicalized about the broken capitalist system in America, email Yvette at yshu7@jh.edu.

Ziyan Liu

Director of Marketing and Communications

Rishi is a third-year pre-med student hailing from the Canadian city of Windsor, where he must travel north to cross the border into Detroit, Michigan. In addition to HopMUNC, Rishi competes on the collegiate circuit with Hopkins’ travel team – HopMUN. While not competing on the circuit, Rishi works as a pro bono consultant for Hopkins’ SCNO (Student Consultants for Nonprofits) chapter and serves as a board member for SASH, the South Asian student society at Hopkins. In his free time, Rishi enjoys his annual tradition of watching his Toronto Maple Leafs suffer yet another catastrophic playoff collapse. In addition to the Leafs, Rishi loves listening to J. Cole while endlessly scrolling through his Youtube recommended page for a new video to watch. Rishi is excited to serve as your Director of Finance & Registration at HopMUNC III, and he is happy to respond to any questions or concerns directed to him. You can contact him at rdamarl1@jh.edu.

Misha Newbold

Director of Delegate Affairs

Misha Newbold is a Junior majoring in International Studies, Economics, and History and in the 5-year SAIS BA/MA program. Born across the Pacific and raised on the plains of Kansas, Misha has a few travel stories to tell (and some of them are mildly interesting). Decently connected to people on the circuit and from random facets of life, Misha enjoys meeting new people and having conversations about a wide array of topics, from movies to current affairs, Bob Dylan’s Street Legal Album to personal drama with the government of Belarus, Wargaming to War Thunder, Chinese Literature to amazing scenery/restaurants/activities in the furthest corners of our world. Most importantly, Misha is looking forward to meeting everyone and working to have delegates’ concerns and questions addressed sufficiently and succinctly.

Rishi Damarla

Director of Finance and Registration

Sareen is a junior Biophysics major. He is interested in both medicine and entrepreneurship. Last year, Sareen served as the Director of Fundraising during HOPMUNC II and he is both honored and excited to serve as the Undersecretary General of General and Specialized Assemblies for HOPMUNC III. Sareen is also a committed member of the HOPMUN travel team and has been elected to serve as its President for this year. Outside of MUN, you’ll find Sareen playing spikeball or basketball with friends and visiting local wing spots around campus!

Sloane Heredia

USG of Crisis Committees

Sloane Heredia is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Electrical Engineering. She’s been doing Model UN since she was ten years old and feels most comfortable with a suit and walkie-talkie. Outside of school, she works in surgical robotics, bringing an engineering mindset to everything she does. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, you can catch Sloane saying "all y'all" and constantly trying to DoorDash tacos. When she’s not deep in committee logistics, she’s probably staring at her list of unread books before inevitably rewatching a cheesy action movie and calling it a night.
She’s excited to serve (create chaos) as USG of Crisis at HopMUNC III! Reach out anytime with snack recommendations or questions at sheredi3@jh.edu.

Sareen Muthyala

USG of General Assembly and Specialized Committees
